Sedona, Arazona

On March 2, we stopped in Cottonwood at the Tourist Information Centre and picked up a few brochures of this area. We then continued north on AZ- 89A, a four lane highway, to Sedona.
Along the way, Lorraine was snapping pictures and took a short video as we travelled, stopping once at a scenic view along the way to take pictures.

A 'Scenic Route' sign invited us to turn and went down Page Spring road. It went through a valley and away from Sedona so we only went a short distance and turned around.

The breath-taking view of the red mountains was just like the information literature had said. We drove down “Dry Creek Road” until we came to Baynton Pass Trail Head. The State Park there had many hiking trails and the fee to park was $5.00 and a little tight for the big Ram Dodge.

We decided on to Red Rock Secret Mountain Trails and walked the Faye Canyon Trail. This two mile trail lead us up and into the canyon.

One place we reverted onto a steeper incline to a point where we could see an Arch formation in the red cliff. Some of the fellow hikers went right under the Arch.

We carried on further up the canyon path to a point that would take us up even further where you could get a good view of the valley.

The five mile walk and the scenery was a good way to spend our day.

Looking at all the pictures when we returned to the trailer gave us total satisfaction.

So until next time remember to “Discover It and Live It”.
