Long Winter

Osoyoos, BC - January 5th, 2016.

It seems like a long winter and it is only the beginning of January. We have had snow now since before Christmas, but the last four days and nights it's been coming down in inches.

This area is labeled as a desert region because of the lack of rain and snow throughout the year. Well not this year.

I when out today with a bag around the camera with only the lens exposed to the element, as it was still snowing.

The temperature has been perfect for keeping the snow in it's fluffy white condition. The only thing is the former frozen ruts and patches of ice are hard to see until you are flat on your stomach and taking a closer look.

The ducks and some geese are year round residence here. The water in the lake does not completely freeze so they have areas where they can still find food and gather together for social get togethers.

The trees here all take on a winter persona and now with the covering of snow the is a beauty that the summer visitors don't see.

Until next time remember to "Discover It and Live It".
