Alberta this time of year can have
weather that does anything. Starting Sunday of last week (May 15)
temperatures climbed into the 20s, "hurrah" we said. Mid week, on
Wednesday the temp went to 30C and it was almost too hot, but we
didn't want to say anything as the Long Week-End was just a few days away and it would be nice to spend time in the sun.
Lorraine and I took the Ram to High River to kick some tires. Lately, I don't know if it's me but the parking spaces at malls and grocery stores have been getting smaller or the Ram dually has been getting bigger. Any way it was time for a smaller touring car.
We did find a pre-owned Malibu with low
mileage.
The people at High Country Chev were very good to us, Thanks Terry B. for the car and the honey.
After the hot Wednesday the temp
dropped and the clouds rolled in, by Friday it had started to rain.
The Long Week-End is the first
get-a-way after a long winter, so the anticipation every one has was
dampened considerately.
I make a log of the weather in a
day-timer and for 4 days now it read: Cloudy/ Rain 8 deg. and today
it was: Cloudy/ Rain 5 deg. with a chance of snow.
Lorraine is a constant when it comes
to walking first thing in the morning, but today she said she was
staying inside and turning up the heaters.
I got my coffee reading in a travel
mug and hopped in the car to find the streets of Okotoks virtually
empty. So here are the shots that caught my eye.
The rain was come down horizontally at times so it was difficult to keep the window clean.
The street were empty on this the Monday of a Long Week-End.
I could just make out the hill on the other side of the valley.
On a dull day like this red trucks stand out the best.
The streets in down town Okotoks were so quiet you could here the sound of eight hooves on the pavement.
They looked a tad wet.
